Elk Mountain Day Hike
This was my first real hike for 2016. Total time was about 3 hours up and down. This was a spring climb so, there was still snow on the ground up at higher elevations. The snow conditions at the higher elevations and in the forest were quite hard packed and very slippery. I was kicking myself thinking that I should have brought my crampons.
But apart from that, it was the perfect spring day and the snow was nice and soft up at the summit. Thanks to my son Eric for joining me on this one.
