Sumas Mt. Cycling Workout and Salvage

Over the past month I've been trying to get in shape by walking up the mountain behind our house to the point you see in the picture (below). However, today I decided to start cycling up. MAJOR LEG BURN. Ok, cycling is ten times harder than walking and my legs feel like hamburger. I cycled up to this point twice this morning. Cycling is now my new thing. I'm sold.

On my way back down I decided to take one of the trails back to do a little exploring and, lo and behold, I stumbled across this abandoned two person tent. The name brand of this tent was an (Escort) usually sold at Canadian Tire stores. It was collapsed and left for junk. However, I looked it over pretty good and, apart from being wet and dirty, it looked like it was still in pretty good shape. Out of the three tent poles, two were still good but one was busted up. No problem, it's easy to get replacement poles. Also, the tent bag and pole sack where laying on the ground not too far away from where the tent was.

It looked like someone had set up camp there. There was a fire pit etc. But, for sure this tent was left for junk. Another interesting thing is the colour. If you've seen any of my other Sasqwatch searches you'll notice that I have a thing for green. My lightweight backpacking tent, kayak, and now this salvaged tent are all the same colour. What do you think it means?

As you can see in the photos below, I packed this thing up into its bags and brought it home. As soon as we get a sunny day, I'll hang it out to dry and then clean it up. The neat thing about this tent is that it's actually a bit bigger than my backpacking tent and would work better for when the wife and I want to do some wilderness camping. Anyway I'll see what its like after it's cleaned up.
